Processing Rules - Fluids |
The Processing Rules - Fluids tab enables you to specify how data about automated fuel systems’ fluids is processed.
The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
Fuel system ID
Valid identifier of the fuel system for which you are defining fluid-processing rules. Numeric. This field has a choice list of previously defined fuel system IDs that have a check in the System available field on the Fuel System Description tab. The system name displays to the right of the ID.
Fuel systems are defined on the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Fueling -> Setup -> Automated Fuel Systems screen.
Data in the fields in the bottom section of this tab define the fluid processing rules. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Check fluid transaction codes
If this field has a check, only those fluid transactions that have a transaction code equal to one of the transaction codes specified in the Valid fluid transaction codes field are processed. The Descriptive Data Items/Data type field on the Data Format tab must include an entry for TRANSACTION CODE. If the transaction code is not a valid fluid transaction code, the action taken depends on whether there is a check in the Check fuel transaction codes field on the Processing Rules - Fuel tab:
If the field has a check and the fuel transaction code is valid, the transaction is processed as a fuel transaction.
If the field has a check and the fuel transaction code is not valid, the transaction is rejected.
If the field is blank, the transaction is processed as a fuel transaction.
Note: Fuel transaction codes are defined in the Valid fuel transaction codes field on the Processing Rules - Fuel tab.
Valid fluid transaction codes
Code (or codes) that the fuel system uses (if any) to identify valid fluid transactions that are to be processed. Use semicolons to separate the values; do not insert spaces before or after the semicolon.
Note: Information in this field is used only if there is a check in the Check fluid transaction codes field.
Fluid price comes from
Method used to determine the unit price or cost of the fluid on each transaction. This information is used only if there is a check in the Check fluid transaction codes field. This field has a choice list.
FLUID INVENTORY: The fuel system identifies the fluid source through fluid ID information and treats fluids as inventory parts. The Fluid source location identifier field must specify a value other than NONE and the Descriptive Data Items/Data type field on the Data Format tab must include an entry for PUMP ID 1, PUMP ID 1 PLUS PUMP ID 2, SITE ID PLUS PUMP ID 1, or TANK ID. You must also set up part ID/suffix values for each fluid ID (go to the Data -> Fuel/Fluid Tanks -> Setup -> Fluid Types screen).
FLUID ID LOOKUP: The fuel system identifies the fluid type on the transaction and specifies that the current price associated with the fluid ID (from the Current price field on the Data -> Fuel/Fluid Tanks -> Setup -> Fluid Types screen) be used. The Fluid source location identifier field must be set to NONE, and the Descriptive Data Items/Data type field on the Data Format tab must include an entry for PRODUCT ID.
TRANSACTION: Each transaction contains price or total cost information. The Fluid source location identifier field must be set to NONE and the Quantitative Data Items/Data type field on the Data Format tab must include an entry for FLUID UNIT PRICE or FLUID TOTAL COST.
Fluid source location identifier
Method used to determine the source of the fluid on each transaction.
If the Fluid price comes from field is set to FLUID INVENTORY, the information in this field is used to determine the inventory location of the tank specified on the transaction. It then obtains the fluid unit price from the inventory record for the part ID/suffix associated with the fluid ID (refer to the Data -> Fuel/Fluid Tanks -> Setup -> Fluid Types screen) at that location and relieves inventory of the part ID/suffix at that location.
If the Fluid price comes from field is set to a value other than FLUID INVENTORY, the value in this field must be NONE.
This field has a choice list:
PUMP ID 1: The fuel system contains a single pump ID for each transaction that corresponds to a single tank. This information and the pump/tank relationships defined on the Data -> Fuel/Fluid Tanks -> Pumps screen are used to identify the dispensing tank and obtain its inventory location. Site ID information is not used in the transaction records, and there cannot be information in the Site ID field on the Pumps screen. The Descriptive Data Items/Data type field on the Data Format tab must include an entry for PUMP ID 1.
PUMP ID 1 PLUS PUMP ID 2: The fuel system contains two separate values which, combined, identify a pump ID for each transaction that corresponds to a single tank. The Descriptive Data Items/Data type field on the Data Format tab must include entries for PUMP ID 1 and PUMP ID 2.
SITE ID PLUS PUMP ID 1: The fuel system contains both site and pump values which, combined, identify a single site/pump ID for each transaction that corresponds to a single tank. This information and the pump/tank relationships defined on the Data -> Fuel/Fluid Tanks -> Pumps screen are used to identify the dispensing tank and obtain its inventory location. There must be information in the Site ID field on the Pumps screen. The Descriptive Data Items/Data type field on the Data Format tab must include entries for PUMP ID 1 and SITE ID.
TANK ID: The fuel system contains the tank ID of the dispensing tank. The information on the Data -> Fuel/Fluid Tanks -> Pumps screen is not used. The Descriptive Data Items/Data type field on the Data Format tab must include an entry for TANK ID.
NONE: The fuel system provides fluid pricing information in each transaction record. fluid inventory is not tracked or relieved. The Fluid price comes from field must specify one of the following:
FLUID ID LOOKUP: The Descriptive Data Items/Data type field on the Data Format tab must include an entry for PRODUCT ID.
TRANSACTION: The Quantitative Data Items/Data type field on the Data Format tab must include an entry for FLUID UNIT PRICE or FLUID TOTAL COST.
