Messaging

The Messaging tab enables you to specify when messages about parts display.

Detail View

Data in the fields in the Parts options section of this tab specify the circumstances under which parts messages display. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.

Message when inventory of a STOCKED part drops below its reorder point

If this field has a check, a message displays whenever a parts issue causes the inventory of a stocked part to drop below its reorder point. Refer to the following Reorder point fields:

Message when a part is transferred

If this field has a check, printed messages are sent to locations when certain part transfer activities occur. The messages are sent only to location IDs that have information in the Printer ID field on the Message Printer tab of the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screen.

The following activities generate messages:

Message when part under warranty is replaced

If this field has a check, a message displays when a part is issued to a work order to replace a part that is under warranty or still within its expected life. If the part is replacing a part still under warranty, FASuite makes an entry in the Warranty Parts Failure (WAR_FAIL) table. The message text is also automatically added to the Comments field on the Comments tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Work Order Center screen.

Message when quantity received does not match quantity ordered

If this field has a check and you manage either CENTRALLY or BY LOCATION, a message displays on the Receipts tab of the Parts Activity - Receipts screen if the receipt quantity does not match the order quantity. If you manage BY ENTERPRISE and this field has a check , a message displays on the Basic Info tab of the Enterprise Purchasing - Receipts screen if the receipt quantity does not match the order quantity. Applies to line item types STOCK PART, NON-STOCK PART, and EXTERNAL REBUILD.

Message when part order price out of range from previous order price

If this field has a check and an order was placed on the Purchasing - Quick Orders screen or Purchasing - Parts Order Management screen or Enterprise Purchasing - Purchase Orders screen, a message displays if the part's previous order price and current order price differ by more than the percentage specified in the Maximum order price deviation percentage field.

Maximum order price deviation percentage

Maximum percentage by which an order price for a part can differ from the previous order price without generating a warning message. This value applies only if there is a check in the Message when part order price out of range from previous order price field.
