Note: The Replacement Analysis module has been replaced by the Replacement Modeling and Performance Analysis modules in FA Web Modules. Both modules are browser-based only.
The Analysis Info tab enables you to define the elements of an analysis of the cost per use of individual equipment units.
The fields in the top section of this tab define the data that displays.
Run ID
Identifier of the sequential number assigned to each run (analysis). This field has a list box.
Run date and time
Date and time of the run (analysis). This field is display only.
Data in the bottom section of the tab define the analysis. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Run description
Description of the run (analysis), typically used to distinguish it from other uploads. It can include the date and other identifying information. If you include a date, use hyphens, not slashes, to separate each element (month, day, year).
Equipment ID
Identifier of the equipment unit for the analysis. This field has a list box of equipment units. The equipment unit year, manufacturer, model, and description display to the right of the ID. This field is optional.
Note: The Authorization tab on the Components--Primary Information, Fleet Equipment, and Linear Assets--Primary Information screens includes an option to exclude an equipment unit from replacement analysis.
Equipment class for maintenance
Equipment class for maintenance. If selected, the analysis process is executed on each equipment unit in the class one at a time. This field has a list box. The equipment class description displays to the right of the field. This field is optional.
Replacement type
This field has a list box. The replacement type description displays to the right of the field.
Prior to generating an analysis for an equipment unit, make sure that its original cost and in-service date are listed on the Acquisition tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.
Step 1. Click the Prepare for Insert button .
Step 2. Type information in the Run description field.
Step 3. In the Equipment ID field, type the ID of the valid equipment unit on which to execute an analysis.
Step 4. Type information in the other screen fields as applicable.
Step 5. Click the Process button .
If the message Equipment is too young. Try later appears, wait approximately 12 hours before you make another attempt.
To view the analysis, use the Data -> Equipment Management -> Replacement Analysis -> Analysis Results screen.
