Operating Restrictions |
The Operating Restrictions tab enables you to display and define the operating restrictions associated with an equipment unit. Some equipment unit problems may occur on a regular basis. Only qualified users may apply operating restrictions, and restrictions may be applied only to open service requests.
Tip: An operating restriction is in effect for an equipment unit if a service request is open, there is data entered on the Operating Restrictions tab, and the Operating restriction cleared field is blank.
The grid contains a field, Priority rank, which you can use to generate a list of all requests with priority codes that have a rank higher than or equal to the value you specify in this field. A higher rank has a rank value closer to zero.
Tip: To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can sort on equipment ID, repair reason, symptom, operating restriction, segment ID, to/from marker ID, and to/from offset, among other values. The list of searchable fields on the filter is extensive; use the scroll bar to view them all. If you specify a range, any record that crosses any part of that range will be displayed.
The Service Requests/Defects screen supports department-level and location-level access control, so you must belong to a user group with the applicable authorizations in order to make changes or updates.
The fields in the top section of this tab default from the Basic Info tab. They are read only.
