Basic Info (Equipment Class-Primary Information) |
The Basic Info tab enables you to display and define identifying information about equipment classes.
Note: If you delete an equipment class, the class PM program definition on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Class -> Class/Task Information screen automatically gets deleted. You cannot delete a class if one or more equipment units are assigned to it.
The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
Equipment class ID
Identifier of the equipment class currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. Maximum field length is 30 characters. This field has a list box. If the ID already exists, the class name displays to the right of the ID.
The fields in the bottom section of this tab define basic information about the equipment class. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Description
Text description of the equipment class. The maximum field length is 60 characters.
Class type
Defined group of class identifiers. The Require class type for equipment classes field on the General Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Options screen specifies whether information in this field is required.
Overhead amount
Total dollar amount of fleet management overhead costs for 1 month that is to be charged to units assigned to this class for rental rates (as specified on the Classes tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen). This amount is prorated among the units during end of-period's equipment usage processing. If your organization does not charge for usage, leave this field blank. This field is optional.
Value depreciation ID
Valid identifier of the value depreciation of the equipment class. This field has a list box of IDs defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Value Depreciation screen.
Required for each class to which you assign equipment units for which you run replacement analysis. There must be a check in the Maintenance field on the Functions tab. Analyses of equipment unit replacements are run on the Data -> Equipment Management -> Replacement Analysis -> Execute Analysis screen.
If the optional Replacement Analysis module is active, this equipment class ID and description display on the Classes Assigned tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Value Depreciation screen.
Note: The Replacement Analysis module has been replaced by the Replacement Modeling and Performance Analysis modules in Web Modules.
Maintenance repair unit (MRU)
Numeric value up to two decimal places for the maintenance repair unit. This field is optional.
Note: Defaults to 1.00 on converted class records.
