Locations

Note: Non-linear assets do not display on this screen. Use the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.

The Locations tab enables you to review and assign the preventive maintenance (PM) and repair location for a linear asset.

Tip: To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can sort on equipment ID, model information, class information, segment ID, to/from marker ID, and to/from offset, among other values. The list of searchable fields on the filter is extensive; use the scroll bar to view them all. If you specify a range, any record that crosses any part of that range will be displayed.
Tip: The More Info tab on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Options screen includes options to synchronize assigned location, department, or location and department changes from the parent to all attached components.

The Primary Information screen supports location-level access control, so you must belong to a user group with the applicable authorizations to make changes or updates.

Detail View Header

The field in the top section of this tab defaults from the information entered on the Basic Info tab. The field is read only.

Equipment ID

Identifier of the equipment unit currently selected in the grid. This field has a list box. The equipment unit year, manufacturer, and model display to the right of the ID.

Tip: You can set a zoom button for this field to detect the type of equipment and display the appropriate screen. If you used Administrator Mode to add a zoom button, you will need to use it again to remove your user-defined zoom button for this functionality to work.

The type of asset.

Detail View

Data in the fields in the bottom section of this tab enables you to assign the linear asset's PM, repair, mobile, station, and availability location. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are optional. The location fields have a Zoom button to the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screen, on which you can define location IDs.

Assigned PM location ID

Identifier of the assigned PM location. This field has a list box. The PM location description displays to the right of the ID.

Preferred PM shift

Preferred PM shift for the linear asset. This field has a list box. Required if there is a check in the Require preferred PM shift for equipment units field on the General Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Options screen.

Shifts are defined on the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Shifts screen.

Work assignment profile ID

Identifier of the assigned work profile. This field has a list box. The profile description displays to the right of the ID. The profile may not be deleted if it is use on a vehicle (e.g., equipment unit, linear asset, rail equipment).

Work assignment profiles are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Work Assignment Profiles screen.

Assigned repair location ID

Identifier of the assigned repair location. This field has a list box. The repair location description displays to the right of the ID.

Assigned mobile location ID

Identifier of the assigned mobile location. Useful in helping determine which repair authority is responsible for maintaining the asset. This field has a list box. The mobile location description displays to the right of the ID.

Station location ID

Identifier of the station location. Useful in helping determine which repair authority is responsible for maintaining the asset. This field has a list box. The station location description displays to the right of the ID.

Stored location ID

Identifier of the storage location. This field has a list box. The storage location description displays to the right of the ID.

Current location ID

Identifier of the current location. This field has a list box. The location description displays to the right of the ID.

Availability location ID

Identifier of the availability location. This field has a list box. The availability location description displays to the right of the ID.

Access rights location ID

Identifier of the access rights location template. This field has a list box.

Miscellaneous 1

Use this field to enter miscellaneous data for the asset. This field maps to the same information as the Vehicle location field does for the Asset Primary screen.

Miscellaneous 2

Use this field to enter miscellaneous data for the asset. This field maps to the same information as the Building location field does for the Asset Primary screen.

Miscellaneous 3

Use this field to enter miscellaneous data for the asset. This field maps to the same information as the Other location field does for the Asset Primary screen.
