Class and Location Info |
The Class and Location Info tab displays information about the past and current assignments of equipment units to classes and locations. Data is sorted by equipment ID in ascending order followed by start date and time in descending order, so the current row for each equipment unit displays first.
Tip: The More Info tab on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Options screen includes options to synchronize assigned location, department, or location and department changes from the parent to all attached components.
Tip: To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can search on equipment ID; begin/end date and time; department ID, operator ID/name, assigned repair location ID, station location ID, and SLA equipment category, and the new value for each; among other values. The list of searchable fields on the filter is extensive; use the scroll bar to view them all.
The row that you selected in the grid area defines the data displays in the tab area. All fields are display only; they provide an audit trail for business practices and policies.
Equipment ID
Identifier of the equipment unit. The equipment year, manufacturer, and model display to the right of the ID.
User who made this change
Identifier of the user who changed the record. The user name displays to the right of the ID.
Begin date and time
Date and time (24-hour clock from 00:00 to 23:59) the assignment began.
End date and time
Date and time the assignment ended. This field is blank for the current assignment.
The fields in the bottom section of this tab display the past and current assignments of equipment units. All fields are display only.
New value
If this field has a check, the value in the field to the right was changed at the begin date and time. If the corresponding field on this tab is blank on the Assignment History tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Options screen, however, updates are not tracked.
Note: This is valid only for class and location changes made after Release 4.0.34; for all previous class and location changes, a check displays in this field but not a begin date and time.
Tip: You can use this field in the filter to limit the display to equipment IDs that have had their class and/or location changed.
Information for the next five fields is from the Locations tab on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.
Assigned PM location ID
Identifier of the location used to schedule preventive maintenance (PM) work on the equipment unit during the period between the Begin and End date and time fields. This field has a list box. The location name displays to the right of the ID.
Assigned repair location ID
Identifier of the location used to schedule repair work on the equipment unit. This field has a list box. The location name displays to the right of the ID.
Assigned mobile location ID
Identifier of the location of a quick response or mobile shop to schedule immediate responses when the unit’s equipment status changed to OUT OF SERVICE during the period between the Begin and End date and time fields. This field has a list box. The location name displays to the right of the ID.
Stored location ID
Identifier of the location used to store the equipment unit during the period between the Begin and End date and time fields. This field has a list box. The location name displays to the right of the ID.
Storage locations for equipment units are defined on the Locations tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.
Station location ID
Identifier of the location where the equipment unit is stationed. This field has a list box. The location name displays to the right of the ID.

Motor pool location ID
Identifier of the motor pool location during the period between the Begin and End date and time fields. This field has a list box. The location name displays to the right of the ID.
Note: This information displays only if there is a check in the Update motor pool dispatch location when unit is returned to a different location field on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Motor Pool -> Setup -> Options screen.
Motor pool locations are defined on the Motor Pool tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.
Current location ID
Identifier of the equipment's current location, based on information from the General Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Equipment Status Change - Customer screen. This field has a list box. The location name displays to the right of the ID.
Equipment locations are defined on the Locations tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.
Availability location ID
Identifier of the location where the equipment unit is available during the period between the Begin and End date and time fields. This field has a list box. The location name displays to the right of the ID.

Equipment class for rental rates
Identifier of the equipment class that defines the equipment unit's rental rates during the period between the Begin and End date and time fields. This field has a list box. The class description displays to the right of the ID.
Equipment class for maintenance
Identifier of the equipment class to which the equipment unit is assigned for maintenance during the period between the Begin and End date and time fields. This field has a list box. The class description displays to the right of the ID.
SLA equipment category
Service level agreement (SLA) equipment category of the equipment unit during the period between the Begin and End date and time fields. This field has a list box. The category description displays to the right of the ID. Also refer to the Data -> Equipment Management -> Service Level Agreements -> Primary Information screen.
Registration class ID
Identifier of the registration class. This field has a list box. The class description displays to the right of the ID.
Registration fee classes are defined on the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Special Fees-> Setup -> Registration Fee Classes screen.
County ID
Identifier of the county associated with the equipment unit. Used to obtain county-based fees. This field has a list box. The county description displays to the right of the ID.
County IDs are defined on the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Special Fees -> Setup -> Counties screen.
Postal code
Postal code associated with the county.
Postal codes are associated with counties on the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Special Fees -> Setup -> Counties screen.
Secondary county ID
Identifier of the secondary county associated with the equipment unit. Used to obtain county-based fees if the equipment unit does not have a primary county ID. This field has a list box. The county description displays to the right of the ID.
County IDs are defined on the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Special Fees -> Setup -> Counties screen.
