Equipment Types - Primary Information |
The Primary Information screen for equipment types enables you to define the organization’s equipment unit types and to view and record information that relates to them. You can also activate and deactivate equipment types. Equipment types are used to group similar assets. You can also use them to identify obsolete part numbers in inventory. Parts used on equipment are automatically associated with the same equipment type.
You cannot delete an equipment type if the equipment type:
Is assigned to an equipment unit on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.
Is assigned to a subsystem or part on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Equipment - Attributes screen.
Is assigned to a test type on the Equipment Types tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen.

Define equipment types, including description, year, manufacturer, model, and assignments (if applicable); activate and deactivate equipment types
Specify default warranty period (months and meter units)
Associate attributes with an equipment type
