Basic Info

The Basic Info tab enables you to define codes that provide a more detailed description about the work performed. For instance, you may specify a task ID for brakes, and then specify the work accomplished code for overhaul. You may also specify whether a code is active or inactive.

The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.

Work accomplished code

Detail View

The fields in the bottom section of the tab provide more information about the work accomplished code.

Description

Text description of the work accomplished code.

Restarts warranty on component

If this field has a check and the Related Component/Warranty tab on the Tasks - Primary Information screen associates a component warranty with the task to which the work accomplished code applies and the equipment unit on the work order has a warranty for that component, the warranty expiration date and meter readings on the component are adjusted when you close the work order. The warranty period restarts as of the close date.

Task IDs for which component warranty information is tracked are specified on the Related Component/Warranty tab of the Tasks - Primary Information screen.

Part being removed is reusable

If this field has a check, the part may be reliably removed and reused without rebuilding. Parts with this characteristic are automatically placed in USED status inventory rather than any other status.

Part is being removed only -- no installation of replacement part

If this field has a check, when a part is issued to a work order, inventory will not be relieved because no new part is being installed. If the part is serialized and/or tracked as a component, the relationships to the equipment unit on which the part was installed are severed.

Part is being installed only -- no removal of an existing part

If this field has a check, when a part is issued to a work order, inventory will be relieved. If the part is serialized and/or tracked as a component, the new relationships to the equipment unit will be built and maintained. An existing relationship with the part is not severed because no removal occurred.

Part Issue Not Allowed

Check this box to disable a part issue for this part. If this box is checked, the system will show an error during processing, and not process this issue.

Part issue required for work order

Check this box to require part issues on work orders. To require part issues within product categories themselves, enter product categories on the Product Categories tab.

Final status

If this field has a check, the information in the Work Accomplished code field on the Tasks tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Work Order Center screen updates when you use the following screens to post labor, parts, or commercial charges to such tasks:

If the task has been assigned to a task type of REPAIR TASK or REPAIR GROUP on the Basic Info tab of the Tasks - Primary Information screen and there is a check in both this field and the Deferred maintenance field, a service request is generated for the equipment unit. It prints the comments from the Comments tab of the Work Order Completion screen on the service request.

Deferred maintenance

If this field has a check, the work accomplished code is defined as one assigned to tasks that were not, but still need to be, completed.

A service requests is generated for the equipment unit when all of the following occurs:

The service request includes the comments from the Comments tab on the Work Order Completion screen.

Active

If this field has a check, the work accomplished code is active. Only active codes display in choice lists.
