Meter Info (Fleet Equipment) |
Note: Linear assets do not display on this screen. Use the Data -> Equipment Units -> Linear Assets -> Primary Information screen.
The Meter Info tab enables you to display and define meter information related to equipment units.
If the optional Mobile software is installed, you can use hand-held devices to transfer meter reading information between the system and the hand-held devices in order to work with the data from remote locations. Refer to the related documentation for this product.
Tip: To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can search on equipment ID, serial number, asset category ID, SLA equipment category, assigned repair location ID, and department ID, among other values. The list of searchable fields on the filter is extensive; use the scroll bar to view them all.
Note: Filtering data based on fuel/fluid type uses the information in the Supported fuel/fluid types screen group on the Codes tab.
The Fleet Equipment screen supports location level and department-level access control, so you must belong to a user group with the applicable authorizations to make changes or updates.
The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
Equipment ID
Identifier of the equipment unit currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. This field has a list box. The equipment unit year, manufacturer, and model display to the right of the ID.
When you insert an equipment unit with an asset category that supports automatic numbering and this field is blank, the system generates an equipment ID that follows the format specified in the Custom ID structure field on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Asset Categories screen. If you specify an ID and the equipment’s asset category supports automatic numbering, the ID is not overwritten.
Whether an asset category supports automatic numbering is specified on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Asset Categories screen.
Data in the fields in the bottom section of this tab define meter information for the equipment units. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Equipment class for meter types
Identifier of the equipment class to which the equipment unit is assigned. It is used to specify the types of meter (or meters) the unit has and to determine meter edit ranges. This field has a zoom button to the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Class -> Primary Information screen, on which equipment classes are defined, and a list box of equipment class IDs that have a check in the Meter types field on the Functions tab of that screen. The class name displays to the right of the ID. Required to update meter readings automatically.
The Meter Info tab on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Class -> Primary Information screen defines meter information related to the equipment class ID.
Meter information
Meter 1 and Meter 2: Meter information for meter 1 and meter 2. An equipment unit’s assignment to a meter type class (refer to the Equipment class for meter types field) specifies its number of meters and meter types. This field is optional.
Meter at delivery
Meter reading at the time of the unit’s delivery. It must not be greater than the value for the meter in the Maximum meter value field. If the class in the Equipment class for meter types field is specified as a meter type other than NONE, the class to which the unit is assigned specifies whether this field is required. Otherwise it is optional. If the meter type is NONE, this field must be zero (0).
To start tracking costs for existing units from the date you first implement the system, type the total of any previous meters plus the current meter reading.
Latest meter reading
Last meter reading entered for the equipment unit, from this screen or elsewhere in the system. It may not be greater than the value listed in the Maximum meter value field. It may, however, be less than the current meter value. If the class in the Equipment class for meter types field is specified as a meter type other than NONE, the class to which the unit is assigned specifies whether this field is required. (Otherwise it is optional.) If the meter type is NONE, this field must be zero (0).
If you update information in this field, information in the Current Meter 1 and Meter 2 fields on the Meters and Fuel tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Historical Costs screen is updated for the current month and year.
If you update information in this field and the Life total field during the same process, the METER_1_ and METER 2 PREV_TOTAL columns in the EQ_MAIN table are updated to the new value in the Life total field minus the new values in this field.
Note: Do not change information in this field and the Meter resets field at the same time. It may cause unanticipated results.
Latest meter source
Source of the latest meter reading. This field is display only. This field updates automatically if there is a check in the Update the last meter read source and date if the new meter reading is the same as the old reading field on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Meter Source screen and the new meter reading is the same as the old reading. Meter update sources are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Meter Source screen.
Latest meter date
Date and time (in MMDDYYYY HH:MM format) of the latest meter reading by the meter source. This field is display only.
This field updates automatically if there is a check in the Update the last meter read source and date if the new meter reading is the same as the old reading field on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Meter Source screen and the new meter reading is the same as the old reading.
Maximum meter value
Maximum possible reading for the designated meter before it rolls over to zero. The value enables the system to detect when a rollover has occurred based on regular meter entries so you do not have to manually record the rollover event. This setting is applied automatically when you create a new equipment record or when you change the equipment class for meter units on an existing equipment unit.
If the Equipment class for meter types field assigns the equipment ID to a class for which the Meter Info tab on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Class -> Primary Information screen specifies a meter type (other than NONE), the class to which the unit is assigned specifies whether information is required in this field.
The field defaults to null. A value is required only if the meter type is other than NONE. This field has a list box:
9999999999
999999999
99999999
9999999
999999
99999
9999
999
99
9
Note: If an equipment unit in the specified meter class has a meter reading that is greater than the new maximum you want to specify for the class, you may not change the setting for the class.
Life total
Lifetime accumulated meter usage for the equipment unit. If the meter type is NONE, this field must be zero (0).
Note: If you update information in this field but do not update information in the Latest meter reading fields, the system does not update information in the Current Meter 1 and Meter 2 fields on the Meters and Fuel tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Historical Costs screen for the current month and year.
Electric charge
These two fields can be entered manually, or populated by KeyValet return reservation process or the MAXQueue service which processes usage charging data.
Last date of full charge: The date of the last full charge.
Last full meter reading: The date of the last full meter reading.
The fields in the Meter resets screen group record meter replacement and rollover events; they display a complete history of all such events for equipment units. Make a new entry each time you replace a meter in an equipment unit. The system automatically detects meter rollovers and makes appropriate entries for them (identified by a value of ROLLOVER in the Reason field).
Note: Do not change information in these fields and the Latest meter reading field at the same time; it may cause unanticipated results.
Delete
To delete the entries in the fields to the right, place a check in this field and click Save.
Date
Date the meter was reset.
Meter number
Meter number of the meter. This field has a list box for 1 or 2.
Reason
Reason the meter was reset. This field has a list box:
REPLACEMENT: Last reading recorded on the meter.
ROLLOVER: Maximum meter value (from the appropriate Maximum meter value field) plus 1.
New meter value
Reading on the meter immediately after it was reset. This value should be zero unless the Reason field specifies REPLACEMENT and the new meter was previously used. It may not be greater than the value specified in the Maximum meter value field.
In addition, if the Equipment class for meter types field assigns the equipment ID to a class for which the Meter Info tab on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Class -> Primary Information screen specifies this meter as a meter type other than NONE, the class to which the unit is assigned specifies whether information is required in this field. If the meter type is NONE, the values in this field must be zero (0).
Old meter value
Last reading on the meter before it was reset. This field is display only. The value that is set depends on the value in the Reason field.
WO location
Identifier of the work order location where the meter was replaced.
-year
Year (in YYYY format) that the meter replacement work order was opened. This field has a list box.
-number
Number assigned to the meter replacement work order. This field has a list box.
