Basic Info


The Basic Info tab for test types enables you to display and define identifying information about test types, including their elements and their required or acceptable results.

Detail View Header

The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.

Test type ID

Identifier of the type of test. This field has a list box. If the ID is already defined, its description displays to the right of the field.

Detail View

The bottom section of this tab contains fields of data that specify basic information about the test type. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are optional.

Description

Description of the test type. Free-format area.

Require that test is authorized for equipment unit

If this field has a check, equipment units entered in the Equipment ID field on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Test Results screen must be authorized for the test. The units' ID, type, or class, can be the source of authorization:

Require work order ID for test

If this field has a check, a work order ID is required on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Test Results screen when recording the results of a test of this type.

Require certificate for test

If this field has a check, a testing-certificate number is required on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Results screen when recording PASS as a result of this test type.

Require vendor ID for test

If this field has a check, a vendor ID is required on the More Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Test Results screen when recording the results of a test of this type.

Require vendor invoice for test

If this field has a check, a vendor invoice number is required on the More Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Test Results screen when recording the results of a test of this type.

Update header status based on element results

If this field has a check, the test result header status will automatically be set to FAIL, PASS, or CORRECTED once all elements have been updated and completed. The status is set depending on the test results as follows:

Allow update of date and time due on test

If this field has a check, the record will allow for an update of the date and time due when a record is updated. If this field does not have a check, the record will require the date and time due to be set when the status is not Pending or In Progress.

Default time code

Time code associated with the test type. This field has a list box. Only time codes with a check in the Use on labor transactions field on the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Time Codes screen may be used. The time code description displays to the right of the field. May be used in the future by MobileFocus or Web Modules. This field is optional.

Default indirect task ID

Identifier of the default indirect task associated with the test type. This field has a list box. The task description displays beneath the field.

Test classification

Classification of the test type (used for customer surveys). This field has a list box. You may also enter your own value.

Associated file

Path and file name

Path and file name of a file associated with the test type. This is useful if you want to associate a procedures document, diagram, schematic, etc. with the test. This field has a file launch button .

Description of the file associated with the test.
