Basic Info |
The Basic Info tab for test results enables you to display and define identifying information about tests. You can use the % wildcard character to filter the results of choice lists on this screen. The Test Results screen supports location-level access control, so you must belong to a user group with the applicable authorizations to make changes or updates.
Note: Test Element Validation: If there is a check in the Validate test element values upon entry field on the Options tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Options screen and you enter a value on this tab that is not allowed, you must delete it before the record may be saved. In addition, if required data has not been entered, you must enter it before the record may be saved.
If the Validate test element values upon entry field is blank, these requirements are not enforced until you close the test result.
Tip: To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can sort on test ID, work order information, status, part ID/suffix, segment ID, to/from marker ID, and to/from offset, among other values. If you specify a range, any record that crosses any part of that range will be displayed. Search results are limited to data for locations to which the user group has been granted access.
Note: Once a test result has been CLOSED, all but the following fields on this tab are locked (i.e., cannot be updated):
Closed checkbox and corresponding date
Approved checkbox and corresponding date
By user
The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
Test ID
Sequential identifier for the test run selected in the grid.
Data in the fields in the bottom section of this tab define basic information about the test results. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Equipment ID
Identifier of the equipment unit for the test. Required if the Part ID and Part suffix fields on the More Info tab are blank; if the part is a serialized component; or if TEST or NULL is specified in the Test classification field on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen.
This field has a list box of active equipment units that do not have a check in the Exclude from inventory lists field on the Authorization tab. The equipment unit year, manufacturer, model, and description display to the right of the ID.
Note: Location level access control is in effect on the this screen, so to add a test result you must be assigned to a user group that has access rights for the equipment’s location.
If the test type ID has a check in the Require that test is authorized for equipment unit field on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen, the equipment unit’s ID, type, or class must authorize the equipment unit for the test type ID.
The following tabs on the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen authorize equipment units for test types:
Authorization by equipment ID: The Equipment ID field on the Equipment IDs tab
Authorization by equipment type: The Equipment type field on the Equipment Types tab. Equipment types are assigned to equipment units on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.
Authorization by equipment class: The Equipment class ID and Class purpose fields on the Equipment Classes tab. An equipment unit is assigned to an equipment class on the Classes tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.
Note: The information in this field cannot be changed once the record has been saved and/or the test has been marked as CLOSED.
Test type ID
Valid identifier of the type of test. This field has a list box. The test description displays to the right of the ID.
When you specify a test type ID, the Test Results tab displays information about all the test element IDs defined as elements of the test type ID on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen.
Note: The information in this field cannot be changed once the record has been saved and/or the test has been marked as Closed.
Tip: The fields that display following the Test type ID field depend on whether you specified a linear asset or a non-linear asset in the Equipment ID field.
If you entered a non-linear asset ID, the Meter 1 reading, Meter 2 reading, Meter 1 validation, and Meter 2 validation fields appear.
If you entered a linear asset ID, the From Marker/Segment, Offset, To Marker/Segment, and Offset fields appear.
Note: These fields display only for non-linear assets.
Meter 1 and Meter 2 reading: Reading on the appropriate meter, to the nearest whole unit (omit tenths) at the date and time the test was performed. If the equipment unit is assigned to an equipment class for meter types with a meter type other than NONE, this value must be greater than zero. Equipment units are assigned to an equipment class for meter types on the Meter Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen.
Meter 1 and Meter 2 validation: Note: These fields display only for non-linear assets. Specifies whether and how meter validation on the Meter 1 and Meter 2 readings is performed. This field has a list box of EQ UPD or NO EQ UPD. See meter validation fields.
Note: These fields display only for linear assets.
From marker/segment: Identifiers of the From marker and segment, respectively. Each field has a list box. Marker IDs are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Linear Assets -> Setup -> Markers screen. Segment IDs are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Linear Assets -> Setup -> Segments screen.
Offset: Distance along the segment from the From marker ID.
To marker/segment: Identifiers of the To marker and segment, respectively. Each field has a list box. Marker IDs are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Linear Assets -> Setup -> Markers screen. Segment IDs are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Linear Assets -> Setup -> Segments screen.
Offset: Distance along the segment from the To marker ID.
Date and time of test
Date and time the test was performed. This field displays the current system date and time, but you can change it to an earlier date and time. This field is not required when the status is PENDING or IN PROGRESS.
Date and time due
Date and time the test performance was due. This field displays the current system date and time, but you can change it to an earlier date and time. This field is not required when the status is PENDING or IN PROGRESS.
Test location ID
Identifier of the location of the test performance. This field has a list box of locations that have checks in the Test location field on the Functions tab of the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screen. The location description displays to the right of the ID. Required if the Vendor ID field is blank.
Employee ID
Identifier of the employee who performed the test. This field has a list box of employees who have checks in the Charges time field on the Scheduling tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Employees -> Primary Information screen. The employee name displays to the right of the ID. Required if entering a test result or if the Vendor ID field on the More Info tab is blank.
Note: This field is locked when a test result is opened.
Work order ID
Identifier of the work order for the test. The work order ID is composed of three parts: the location, year, and number. The location part of the field has a list box that is restricted by equipment ID on the test result. Choice list includes PENDING and PLANNING work orders. Required if there is a check in the Require work order ID for test field on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen; otherwise, optional.
Note: If a work order is entered, it must have a status of either OPEN or WORK FINISHED. It also must apply to the equipment unit, part ID, and part suffix specified on the test result.
