Run ID (Hand-held Devices)


Identifier assigned to each upload. This field has a list box. The run description displays to the right of the ID. You can upload data from multiple hand-held devices under one run ID.

Data in the fields on the right in the bottom section of the tab control and track processing. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.

Unlabeled choice box

Controls whether the transaction data is processed in the current upload. This field has a list box:

Reject entry and continue

If this field has a check, the entry is rejected and processing continues.

The fields on the left in the bottom section of the tab display information that was processed or which an attempt to process was made.

If an error in the data is encountered, a description of the error displays and processing is suspended. The cursor is positioned in the first field that contains an error. To continue processing, correct the error and click the Process button.

Employee ID

Unique identifier of the employee who entered the data into the hand-held device. This field has a list box. The employee name displays to the right of the ID.

Indirect time code ID

Identifier of the indirect time code. This field has a list box. The indirect time code description displays to the right of the ID.

When you process data with an indirect time code of 15, the Date and time of last yard check field on the Status tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen is updated automatically.

Work order ID

The work order ID is composed of three parts. The first part is the location ID and specifies the ID of the location of the shop to which the work order is assigned. It must be a location that supports work orders. This part of the field has a list box. The second part is the calendar year that the work order was opened. The third part is a sequential number in the range from 1 to 9999999. This third part of the field also has a list box.

When you insert a work order with a hand-held device, the repair reason specified in the Repair reason IDs for the following special repair reason/Work orders opened with hand-held devices field on the Repair Reasons tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Options screen is assigned.

The Functions tab on the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screen determines the job status of work orders entered with hand-held devices. The job status displays on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Work Order Center screen.

Equipment ID

Identifier of the equipment unit. This field has a list box of equipment unit IDs defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen (unless there is a check in the Exclude from inventory lists field on the Authorization tab of that screen). The year, manufacturer, and model of the equipment unit display to the right of the ID.

Meter 1

Meter reading on the appropriate meter on the unit. Under certain conditions, the current meter reading for the unit is updated on the Equipment Master (EQ_MAIN) table. See conditions for updating current meter readings and the Meter 1 validation field.

If the Classes tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Fleet Equipment screen assigns the equipment unit to an equipment class that the Meter Info tab on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Class -> Primary Information screen specifies has a Meter type of NONE, the value in this field must be zero (0).

Meter 1 validation

Specifies whether and how meter validation on the meter 1 reading is performed. This field has a list box of EQ UPD or NO EQ UPD. See meter validation fields.

Available for repair/PM

If this field has a check, the equipment unit is available for repair or preventive maintenance (PM) work.

Task ID

Identifier of the task. This field has a list box of IDs that have a check in the Active field on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Tasks -> Primary Information screen, which indicates you can post charges to the task. The task description displays to the right of the ID.

If an error is encountered in the task ID data, the cursor is positioned in this field and processing is suspended. To continue processing, correct the error and click the Process button.

Direct time code ID

Identifier of the direct time code.  The default is the time code ID specified on the Rates tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Employees -> Primary Information screen. You can change it to any direct time code. Time codes 00 to 19 are reserved for use with bar code entries. This field has a list box. The code description displays to the right of the ID.

The Functions tab on the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screen determines the job status of work orders entered by hand-held devices with a time code of 00 or 01 (Leave Work Order). The job status displays on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Work Order Center screen.

Part ID

Valid identifier of the part. This field has a list box. The part description displays to the right of the ID.

Part suffix

Number associated with the part in the Part ID field, which distinguishes it from other parts with the same part ID. This field has a list box.

Stocking location ID

Identifier of the parts store location. This field has a list box. The location description displays to the right of the ID.

Vendor ID

Identifier of the parts vendor that supplied the part. This field has a list box. The vendor name displays to the right of the ID.

Fail ID

Identifier of the parts failure. It describes the reason that the part failed or was replaced. This field has a list box. The failure description displays to the right of the ID.

If an error is encountered in the failure code data, the cursor is positioned in this field and processing is suspended. To continue processing, correct the error and click the Process button.

Part quantity

Quantity of the part.

Tank ID

Identifier of the fuel tank from which fuel was dispensed to the equipment unit. This field has a list box.

Fuel qty

Quantity of fuel dispensed to the unit, to the nearest tenth of a gallon or liter.
