Test Results |
The Test Results tab enables you to display and record test results, by element. You can use the % wildcard character to filter the results of choice-lists on this screen. The Test Results screen supports location-level access control, so you must belong to a user group with the applicable authorizations to make changes or updates.
Note: Test Element Validation: If there is a check in the Validate test element values upon entry field on the Options tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Options screen and you enter a value on this tab that is not allowed, you must delete it before the record may be saved. In addition, if required data has not been entered, you must enter it before the record may be saved.
If the Validate test element values upon entry field is blank, these requirements are not enforced until you close the test result.
Tip: To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can sort on test ID, work order information, status, part ID/suffix, segment ID, to/from marker ID, and to/from offset, among other values. If you specify a range, any record that crosses any part of that range will be displayed. Search results are limited to data for locations to which the user group has been granted access.
Note: Once a test result has been CLOSED, all the fields on this tab are locked and may not be updated.
The fields in the top section of this tab define the data that displays.
Test ID
Sequential identifier for the test run selected in the grid.
Data in the fields in the bottom section of this tab, presented in a screen group, define basic information about the test results. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Test element ID
Identifier of the test element that is part of the test type ID on the Basic Info tab. This field is display only.
Test element IDs are assigned to test types on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen. Test elements are defined on the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Elements screen.
Test element description
Description of the test element. This field is display only. Test element descriptions are defined on the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Elements screen.
Numeric value found
For test elements that generate numeric results, this is the value of the test result. Required if there is a check in the Require numeric found field on the Test Elements tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen.
Numeric value after adjustment
Value found after the equipment unit was adjusted to correct the condition indicated by the Numeric value found field. Required if there is a check in the Require numeric adjusted field on the Test Elements tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen.
Unit of measure
Predefined unit of measure used for the test element results. This field is display only.
Qualitative finding
For test elements that do not generate numeric results, this is the value found as a result of the test. Required if there is a check in the Require qualitative field on the Test Elements tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen. This field has a maximum of 60 characters.
Not performed
If this field has a check, the test element was not performed. In this case, none of the data items are required to be entered.
Result
Result of the test on the element.
If there is a check in the Not performed field, leave this field blank.
If there is a check in the Require result field on the Test Elements tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen, this field is required.
This field has a list box:
PASS: The element unit passed the element of the test.
FAIL: The element unit failed the element of the test. If the Test Elements tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen specifies that task IDs be associated with the test element ID, the following actions occur, depending on whether there is a check in the Safety related field on that tab:
Safety related: A work order is opened with the associated task IDs specified on that tab. It includes the test type ID and test element ID from that screen and the test ID from this tab as a comment on the work order.
Not safety related: A service request is generated for the equipment unit. (Refer to the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Service Requests/Defects screen.)
Note: When "Allow Result" and "Require Result" have been enabled, if a numeric value on a test result is outside the threshold defined for the element, the result is automatically marked as FAIL. If a numeric value after adjustment is also entered, this value is compared against the threshold to determine whether to automatically mark the result as FAIL.
CORR: Either the element unit or an entire result set required adjustment prior to achieving a passing result.
Detection threshold
Predefined value for the test element. This field is display only. Detection thresholds are defined on the Test Elements tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen.
Allowable minimum
Predefined minimum value required for the test element in order to pass the test. This field is display only. Allowable minimum values for test elements are specified on the Test Elements tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen.
Allowable maximum
Predefined maximum value required for the test element in order to pass the test. This field is display only. Allowable maximum values for test elements are specified on the Test Elements tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Types screen.
Condition rating
Condition of the equipment under test. This field has a list box. This field is optional. Conditions are defined on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Condition Ratings screen.
Condition score
The condition score of the item for the test results. You can enter this if allowed, or this may be required, depending on the work order.
Symptom
Symptom associated with the test element. If the test fails, it is sent to the generated service request. This field has a list box. Symptoms are associated with test elements on the Symptoms tab of the Data -> Equipment Activity -> Testing -> Setup -> Test Elements screen.
Comments
Comments about the test element or result recorded. Optional, free-form area. This field has a 255 character limit.
Date and time of test
Enter the date and time of the test.
